Miso Tahini Kale kura

First put a little coconut oil and 1 garlic clove chopped. Then add the kale stems. Fry them for a while. Then add chopped kale. Add salt. Cook it for a while. Add a chopped tomato. Cook some more. At the end add miso and tahini.

It’s really good. A good way to eat kale.

I realized I didn’t post stuff

I’ve been eating pappu, sambar, rice, and stuff like that. Here’s some other things I’ve eaten.

  • Ricotta pancakes (still didn’t get the texture right)
  • Spinach, ricotta, asiago ravioli made with wonton wrappers – these are good if they have tons of filling and not too much wrapper
  • Wonton samosas – I decided I don’t like baked wonton wrappers
  • Asiago wonton crackers – They burnt
  • Guddu kura (gravy) – So good, so good
  • Chocolate halwa – I remembered that halwa sux after eating it

That’s all I can remember for now. Moral of the story is that wonton wrappers are overrated.

Peas Kichdi

Put ghee, cumin, cashews. Fry. Add a pinch of garam masala, lots of dhanya powder, some cumin powder, salt, and some red chili powder. Fry a bit. Add the peas and break them up. Add the rice. Mix it good. Pressure cook it. With about 3/4 cup rice to 1 and 1/3 cup water for 20 min. I used long grain brown rice. Wait for first whistle then put it on low. It was so good.

Note: Actually I accidentally put lots of dhanya powder but that’s good cuz more masala equals more better.

Peanut Coconut Broccoli

I tried the combo when I ┬áhad half a can of coconut milk leftover from coconut curry. So I made this. It was rly gud. You basically can’t go wrong…so no need for a recipe…

Everything Rice

I like mixed rices. Having leftover rice is great. Here’s today’s version.

3 cloves garlic, 1 half onion, cumin, some butter, turmeric, salt, chili powder, peanut butter, wee bit of soy sauce, curry powder, cumin powder, rice, 2 eggs.

Tastes great. I was going for Indian tasting.

Broccoli Egg Scramble

Pour a wee bit of oil in a non-stick pan. Add jeera, mustard seeds. Add cut broccoli. Cook with the lid on, stirring once in a while. Make sure it doesn’t burn too much. Don’t add water. While it’s cooking, mix 2 eggs, some curry powder, red chili powder, salt. After the broccoli is mostly done, push it to the edges and pour the egg mixture. Scramble/cook it until it’s done.

Super easy.

And fast. It takes like 15 min to make.

10/10 would make again.

Lentil Soup with Miso

I’d give this soup a 7/10.

2 cloves garlic

1 cup brown lentils soaked

vegetable broth+water

chopped broccoli and carrots

miso

lemon, pepper, salt

Chop up the garlic and fry it in oil. Add the lentils, broth and water and cook it. Cut the broccoli and carrots. Add it when the lentils are pretty much done. Dissolve the miso in some of the soup separately. After everything is cooked, turn off the stove and add the miso. Add some lemon juice and pepper and salt.
